A465 Heads of the Valley Dualling/Section 3 -Brynmawr to Tredegar

EMJ Plastics provided GRP Permadec panels to 8no structures, working closely with the contractor to ensure all delivery requirements were met

Section 3 extends from Intermediate Road Bridge near Brynmawr roundabout to Nant Y Bwch roundabout at Tredegar. This phase was delivered by the Welsh government, helping to improve journeys and drive regeneration along the Heads of the Valleys.

EMJ designed panels accordingly and provided layouts for skewed bridges.

  • 8no structures totaling 5130m2 deck area
  • Variations in panel lengths and widths to accommodate the design
  • GRP Permadec ribbed panels were used on predominantly steel structures
