Projects:

Footbridge Budweis/Budweis, Czech Republic

This project consisted of the replacement of an old pedestrian footbridge with a new steel beam bridge

Project Description:

The composite bridge comprised a 250mm deep concrete deck with 4 longitudinal main beams 1.2m deep with spacing of 2x850mm and 1x750mm.

The bridge carries services beneath the deck (400mm diameter pipe for hot steam and electric cables).

These are supported by cross RSH, dividing the total length of the 70m bridge into 15 bays by 3.88mm, 2 nays x 1.88m and 2 bays by 2.38m. The EMJ panels were manufactured to suit those dimensions, so no additional cutting was needed on site.

Key facts:

  • The total area of EMJ Permadec panels supplied was 190sqm
  • it only took 2 hours to install without any kind of lifting device e.g. cranes or manipulators
