Projects:

zouch bridge, loughborough, UK

The condition of the bridge has been slowly deteriorating with works starting in Summer 2024 and with expected completion date early 2027.

Project Description:

Zouch Bridge replacement - a vital connection on the A6006 linking Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire across the River Soar. It forms part of the A6006 which is an important part of the road network, linking the region's transport and trade routes, including the strategic road network, East Midlands Freeport and East Midlands Airport.

EMJ worked alongside our contractors, Eric Wright Group, to help design, manufacture and deliver our GRP Panels to site.

Key facts:

  • 434 qty of our Standard Panels were manufactured, covering an area of 532m2.
  • Bespoke detailing service was included from EMJ
  • The images are showing the process and completion of the first bridge launch, in August 2025, carefully winching the new steel beams 26m across the river. With high-voltage overhead cables limiting crane use, this operation demanded millimetre-level precision, meticulous planning & seamless coordination.
